"This is such a perfect house to base yourself while in Aotea (Great Barrier Island). The house is a short walk down to Medlands Beach with beautiful views from the house to the water and the bush. Aotea Brewing are also only a short walk downhill, they brew some great beers that you can enjoy while relaxing on the two decks. The water pressure is fantastic along with the lovely shower gel, shampoo and hand wash that all smell divine. The bedrooms are spacious for six people and are very comfortable after a long day of hiking on Aotea’s many tracks! The house is equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay, including all the cooking equipment. Lyn, Bob & Ian are fantastic hosts, are quick to respond if you have any questions."

"We have been to Great Barrier many times and stayed in many Airbnbs. This has to be the very best we have stayed in! The photos don't do it justice. Everything is brand new and every amenity has been thought of. The view is incredible and the place was so comfy we didn't want to leave. Very private and all day sun. This is a stylish home and the attention to detail is perfect. Super comfy beds and luxurious bathrooms. Epic, sheltered outdoor setup for those BBQ nights. Full cell phone coverage and good WIFI for those who need it. Very close to the beach and Claris. Check in couldn't be easier and Lyn and Ian were great to communicate with. We can't wait to come back with family and friends and rent out their other houses on the same property. Definitely staying longer next time."

"This accommodation well exceeded my expectations! Will absolutely be coming to stay again. Beautifully furnished, stunning views and lots of outdoor space. 10 mins walk to Medlands beach. Only tip is that I was happy to have a 4-wheel drive to get up the driveway on some of the wetter days."

All that, yet still easily survived Cyclone Gabrielle with ease thanks to the northerly aspect and hill helping to block the easterlies.
